Bath Liberal Democrats - Working and Winning for Bath with Don Foster all Year Round

Oldfield

Your local Liberal Democrats:

Cllr Shaun McGall says:

"Oldfield Park is a lovely part of the city, with a good community spirit. Having had the privilege to represent the residents and businesses of Oldfield Ward for eight years, I know the issues and concerns in the area. Together with Cllr Ruth Griffiths I have been working hard with many local residents, Moorland Road Traders Association, Somer Community Housing Trust, the Police and other agencies, through groups such as Oldfield Outlook and the Student Liaison Committee, to try and solve some of these issues. Cllr Griffiths and myself haven't been able to solve every single issue and never will, but local voters will hopefully now that Will Sandry and I will work hard on their behalf."

Newly-elected Councillor Will Sandry says:

"I am very happy to be representing the area in which I have lived for nearly 10 years. Oldfield has a good community spirit and I am very proud to live in this part of Bath. There are many aspects to being a councillor, but I think key to the role is to keep the community informed about what is going on in the area and empowering residents to have their say on local issues. It is also important to be a voice for the community and to work to get the best for our local area from the stretched resources of the Council."

"I want to build on the good work that Ruth Griffiths has done for our community over the past 13 years and work with Cllr Shaun McGall to be the best the representatives for the residents of Oldfield Ward."

About Oldfield:

Welcome to the Oldfield Ward! Oldfield Park is a vibrant and dynamic community covering a large part of the south-west of the city of Bath. The Moorland Road shopping area has a great range of businesses which serve the local community of Oldfield Park, the whole city of Bath and beyond.

Your local councillors are working very closely with the Police, Moorland Road Traders Association, local groups and residents to enhance and develop the area, and we were very pleased that many residents find the time to fill out the ward surveys that we regularly send out, send their comments in via our 'comments section' on our regular Focus newsletters and attend our monthly advice and information surgeries at the Co-op Scala off Moorland Road.

Ruth and Shaun have joined with local businesses and residents to form Oldfield Outlook, a thriving community partnership which is looking at how Oldfield could develop over the next five years.

Moorland Road is the busy commercial and community centre of the ward, with many independent shops and services.
