Newbridge![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Newbridge is on the Western side of Bath, and it is a very diverse ward. We have many of Bath and North East Somerset's Light Industries in and around the area. The Royal United is the areas largest Hospital and is situated in Newbridge. We have 3 schools, 2 junior and 1 senior. Newbridge Infants and Junior School, St. Mary's R.C.School, and Oldfield Girls Senior School. We also have a very popular shopping area, Chelsea Road. There are many, diverse businesses that cater for the local community. We have two riverside pubs/restaurants and are fortunate that the river walkway and cycle path passes through Newbridge - our many Hotels and Guest houses are also popular with tourists. There is also the Newbridge Park and Ride which is very popular and well used. Local Liberal Democrats have been working with Youth and Community Services within the Council to provide activities for local young people. We bid for, and were successful in obtaining three-year funding which has enabled two youth workers to work in the area two nights a week with the young people. From this we held two community fun days in one of the local parks, and thanks to donations and sponsorship that we received, the days were free to all who attended. We have been the local ward councillors for the area since 1995 and are pleased that we serve and work for an area with great community spirit.
