Bathavon SouthNeil Butters - your Lib Dem Councillor for Bathavon SouthNeil Butters lives in South Stoke with his wife, local artist Charlotte Moore. He administers the national Railway Heritage Committee which looks after historically significant railway records and artefacts in need of permanent preservation. This follows previous management posts in the railways. He is also a one-time Assistant Director of Bath Enterprise Ltd. His degree is in psychology, law, and economics, later supplemented by an MBA. Neil moved to South Stoke almost three years ago and took an immediate interest in local affairs and the concerns of South Stoke and other similar villages. He thinks it's important to live in your ward. "It is good to see first-hand what goes on in your ward if you want to help your residents", he says. He is not new to local government or to villages, having served for nine years as a Borough Councillor in the Swindon area - and, before that, chaired his local parish council. He is a Governor of Ralph Allen School, the excellent secondary school serving most of the villages in the ward. Neil's special concerns are the environment, good public transport, and keeping rural communities looked after and viable. This includes protecting village amenities like shops, village halls and pubs and taking an active part in planning decisions that affect the villages in the ward. Contact your local Lib Dems:
