Next Widcombe, Combe Down and FoxHill PACT Meetings set for End of Month9.10.36am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 24th Jan 2008 The second round of Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings for Widcombe and Combe Down/Foxhill will be taking place on Monday Jan 28th and Tuesday Jan 29th respectively. These important engagements between representatives from the Police, the Council, and other partners are intended to identify local concerns, develop responses, and then see them through into action. These meetings are open to all member of the respective communities, and there is no formal agenda other than the above. Councillor Ian Gilchrist (LibDem, Widcombe) says, "The last PACT meeting was well-attended, and saw a wide airing of views. The key concerns which emerged were anti-social behaviour, traffic speed and parking. We are looking forward to hearing what solutions our partners have come up with, and how they will go about putting them into practice. I have no doubt that new issues will emerge which will hopefully lead to new actions, all making Widcombe an (even) better place to live!"
Councillor Cherry Beath (LibDem, Combe Down) says,"Our next PACT meeting will be held in Foxhill Community Centre, so we hope many residents will come along and let us know about any problems. We will also be happy to answer questions and give any information that we can." The meetings are scheduled for Widcombe Junior School on Jan 28th at 7.30, and at Foxhill Community Centre on Jan 29th also at 7.30. They will last about 75 minutes. Please contact your local ward Councillor for any further information.
