Nick Clegg

The results of the Liberal Democrat leadership contest were announced this afternoon. Nick Clegg, MP for Sheffield Hallam, is the new leader, having won the support of 20,988 party members nationwide.

Clegg is a previous MEP, and has been the party's Home Affairs spokesperson recently. It is an exciting time for the party, as the Lib Dems look forward to moving ahead and engaging with the many members of the public who identify with our views, but as of yet do not vote for us.
